Seeing blessed visions

Christian devotional, AI

Then the Lord answered me and said: "Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

In the Bible, "vision" refers to divine communication or revelation from God. Prophets are often given visions throughout the old testament. The prophets Isaiah, Ezekiel, Elisha, and others had literal visions, symbolic images, and spiritual insights.

Even today, God still communicates with us through visions, as Joel 2:28 states, in the last days, “Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”  God speaks to us in different ways. Some can hear God better, sensing from the spirit, while others see visions and dreams that are more imaginary and pictorial, where the visual sense is stronger to see the spiritual realm.

Vision from God doesn't belong exclusively to some prophets or to people with a “seer anointing ”. As we receive and be filled with the Holy Spirit, God will speak to us through visions and other ways in the Spirit.

It is a great prayer to pray in Ephesians 1:16-20, especially when it comes to "the eyes of your understanding being enlightened". The Greek word for "understanding" also means imagination. Just as a child can often use imagination and creativity, but as we grow older, our imagination tends to decrease and we tend to use “logic” and common sense. It is possible to pray with childlike faith that God will restore a fresh vision.

The bible also instructs us to “write down the vision and make it plain on tablets ”. Yes, get our tablets ready, whether digital tablets or notebooks. The visions of God are precious and bring encouragement, guidance, and divine revelation, whether they are visions, verses, or anything you sense from the spirit. Just write them down or draw them out. It's important to keep a record, as the act of writing preserves as well as clarifies revelation. Our vision or revelation becomes alive when revisited, driving us to take action and "run" with renewed purpose.

As we walk daily in communion with the Lord, we can pray for eyes of understanding and enlightenment, and He will restore our spiritual sight. Visions may be given by God for various aspects of your life, but the most profound is a fresh revelation of His presence. May His visions nourish and guide us toward God's heart.

Blessing prayer: May you enlighten our understanding so we are open to recognizing your vision that reveals your heart. In Jesus' name, Amen
