Deep Faith in God's Promises

Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel. (Joshua 14:14)

Caleb’s story is a powerful testament to the rewards for those who follow God wholeheartedly. At 85, Caleb not only possessed the physical strength of his youth but also a spiritual fortitude characterised by conquering faith. For 45 long years, Caleb held onto God's promise of the inheritance. The account in Joshua 14:6-15 is not just about physical conquest but also a demonstration of Caleb’s unwavering faith. His deep faith in the Lord remained steadfast, even though the promises took many years to come to pass. Caleb’s life teaches us that when we follow the Lord wholeheartedly, we cultivate a deep trust in God’s promises, even when their fulfillment seems delayed and humanly impossible. God is a faithful rewarder of those who follow Him wholeheartedly.

Reflection:
Are there any of God's promises that remain unfulfilled in your life? How can you model Caleb's unwavering faith  during this waiting period?

Prayer and Declaration:
Abba Father, we come before You inspired by the faith of Caleb, who wholly followed You wholeheartedly. Lord, bestow upon us the spirit of Caleb so that we too may cultivate a deep faith that does not weaken with the passage of time. Bless us with the courage and readiness to act, holding onto Your promises with conquering faith. We ask for the confidence that comes from knowing Your word never fails, and that Your plans and timing for us are perfect. Help us to stand steadfast, desiring to have a faith that pleases You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
