A generous pool

The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself. Proverbs 11:25

According to this verse, the one who waters others will also be watered. The Hebrew word for generous means .  Rich here is dāšēn which means anointing. In Hebrew, waters  (rhva) means to satisfy and fill, but to be watered (yara) is a different Hebrew word, which means to pour and rain.

Therefore, I would translate this verse like this: our souls are like the pools that can provide blessings to others, to satisfy their needs, and God will fill our pools by His rain as He is the source of our blessings. By watering others, our souls will receive God's anointing.

As an example of this spiritual principle, we can look at nature, in which no plant is isolated from the water cycle. For life to sustain and grow, water is necessary, whether it is through rain, a water pipe, or by a farmer to water the crops.

As with physical laws, people also need watering, and we can do that by giving not only with money, but also our time to others, and so God will bless our souls with prosperity and true riches.

There are times when we feel that we have no time or money to give others, and what is the antidote? Water someone first. Bless someone who cannot repay us and let God reward us as men repays a cup of water for a cup of water. However, God will bless us with rain, not just a cup of water.

I believe selfishness is one of the obstacles to receiving God's blessings and anointing. Through generosity, we can break the bondage of selfishness and receive God's rain. When we are generous with our time and money to bless others, God will pour out His blessings, riches, and anointing. Our pool of blessings will never dry up!

Blessings prayer: God, thank you for being so generous to us, because you are the source of all blessings. Teach us to be generous like you so we can bless others. In Jesus’ name, Amen
