A Wise Fool (Introduction)

Key verse: A wise man’s heart is at his right hand, But a fool’s heart at his left. Ecclesiastes 10:2

Throughout the Bible, we see a recurring theme: the comparison between wisdom and foolishness. In God's infinite wisdom, humans often appear as fools, yet the Bible instructs us clearly on how to avoid foolishness and grow in wisdom. There are both benefits and consequences: wisdom leads to life, while foolishness leads to destruction.

The definition of foolishness in the Bible has nothing to do with one’s intelligence or educational background. It is a matter of the heart and character. Some fools act out of ignorance, while others knowingly choose the wrong path despite understanding what is right. The wise, however, consistently choose to walk in righteousness. In other words, a fool strays from the path of godliness, often rejecting the fear of God and becoming more vulnerable to the influence of sin.

In this new devotional series, A Wise Fool, we will explore the differences between the wise and the foolish as portrayed in the Bible. By examining key areas of life—the heart, attitude, mindset, speech, and conduct—this series aims to provide practical takeaways that can be applied to our daily lives.

This series is an invitation to stay on the path of righteousness, grow in wisdom, and become more like Christ.
