Fearful projection

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

According to Murphy's Law, "anything that goes wrong will go wrong.” Although this isn't a spiritual law, it applies to this foreboding mindset that even when things are good, something else must be wrong.”

A fearful mind says that instead of being joyful in the present moment, you should remain alert because something bad will happen. It will always appear that this fearful projection is wise or even discerning. This is especially when bad things happen, the mind will say, “See I told you!" The mind will constantly project fear and validate the foreboding thinking.

Things go wrong and I am not in denial that these things will not occur.

However, I would like to expose this fear-based projection that gives us dread and apprehension. It can act as a protective mechanism: if we expect the worst, you'll never disappoint.

Fear becomes our guide when it becomes so strong that it defines our future, which makes it a form of deception. Fear-based deception will rob us of our peace in the present, stop us from having faith and hope, and prevent us from seeing and expecting good in the future. As a result, we are unable to grasp the truth that "all things work together for good." Romans 8:28, and we are perpetually trapped in a hopeless state of mind.

To overcome foreboding mindset, we must accept God's perfect love, as described in the key verse today. We may also need healing from our past disappointments and hurts, which is why we rarely see good things happening in certain areas. Especially this mindset hinders us from taking a step of faith, it brings the disappointments of the past into how we view the future, thus it creates a sense of apprehension that we serve fear instead of God.

There is always faith, hope, and love working in the hands of God. Our God is a good God who gives us hope and a future. The perfect love of God casts out all fear so that we can see our circumstances from the perspective of what God's word says about our good future.

Blessing prayer: Keep us rooted in your love and truth and deliver us from fearful thoughts. Our God has given us hope and good things to look forward to. In Jesus' name, Amen
