Prosperity is a journey
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
Prosper in Greek means "to help on the road, to succeed in reaching, to have a prosperous journey." It is an interesting perspective on biblical prosperity, considering that prosperity is a journey rather than an event. In a journey, we leave at one point (departure) and advance toward another point (arrival); I believe the arrival represents God's determined outcome and His goals for us.
The journey to prosperity is about embarking on the journey to reach God's desired outcome. In other words, a prosperous person is never stagnant or regressing, but always moving forward, and I believe prosperity is a consistent journey, and "Grace" is our help along the way.
As a basis for how the prosperity journey begins, we begin by receiving God's promises and instructions. With Grace along the way and constant obedience on our part, we move forward and ultimately arrive at the destination, which is God's desired outcome.
Using my devotional ministry as an example, I received God's instructions to write something, but I was hesitant and procrastinated for years as I focused on my desired outcome, releasing the right platform with the right message and targeting the right people. Having waited for many years, until God moved me to start writing, despite wanting to quit before, I obey. I realize that this writing ministry is God's way of blessing me with "soul prosperity".
During the daily writing process, my mind is being renewed, and my emotions are becoming steadily compliant with His word and learning to cultivate the mind of Christ. As compared to my Christian journey from years ago, I am at such peace and joy that I realize it is God's desire for me to have a prosperous spirit. In the process, I have also learned that continuous progress depends on our consistent obedience to God.
Enjoy our God-led path of prosperity. A prosperous life is dynamic, not static. Don't overachieve in man's outcome, but soberly reach toward God's goal through His grace and our consistent obedience. Enjoy the journey of prosperity!
Blessing prayer: May your grace help us departure from a point and active progression toward your designated destination for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen
