Debunking Lies with Ephesians1: (Part 1)Blessings
Common Lie: God doesn’t bless me, just look at the things I lack.
Often, we measure God's blessings through the lens of material gain or earthly success, leading to the deceptive belief that we are not truly blessed if we lack these things. Ephesians 1:3, however, counters this lie by affirming that every believer is endowed with “every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” This statement reveals that our most significant blessings are not of this world but are eternal and spiritual.
The phrase "every spiritual blessing" encompasses forgiveness, redemption, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and eternal life and much more— they are far superior to temporal gains. This verse also reminds us that God does not show partiality; these blessings are promised to every believer without exception. By focusing solely on earthly gains, we risk overlooking the spiritual and true riches already at work in our lives. Recognizing these blessings helps redirect our perspective from what we lack to the abundance we have in Christ.
Scripture Immersion:
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any spiritual blessings you might have overlooked or taken for granted. Take a moment to list down the spiritual blessings you have.
Prayer:
Abba Father, I thank You for every spiritual blessing You have bestowed upon me in Christ. Help me to always remember that my true worth and blessings are found not in earthly gains but in the riches of Your grace and salvation. I declare that I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. I receive and embrace the eternal blessings of forgiveness, grace, everlasting life, and restored identity as a child of God, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
