Everlasting Bread
After the miraculous feeding of over 5,000 people, Jesus shifted from the miracle to a deeper teaching. He contrasted the physical food that perishes with the spiritual food that endures to everlasting life. This spiritual food, Jesus explained, points to Himself—the Bread of Life. He offers not just temporal satisfaction but eternal ratification and life.
Believing in Jesus is the condition set to receive the Bread of Life for everlasting life. This is not a one-time act of belief that seeks temporary relief and solutions; it is a lifelong commitment to aligning our daily pursuits with eternal priorities. Jesus promises not just a life that extends into eternity but an abundant life marked by a deep, intimate relationship with Him. How then do we 'labor' for this food? It begins by earnestly seeking Jesus, believing in Him, and committing to follow Him wholeheartedly."

Prayer
Abba Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus, who is the Bread of Life. Lord, we believe in Him and rejoice in the everlasting life that He gives us. Help us not to labor for what perishes but to cherish and seek the spiritual nourishment that You provide through Jesus. We trust in Your promise that those who believe in Him will be raised up on the last day. May our lives reflect this glorious hope as we daily thank You for giving us this day our daily bread. In Jesus' name, Amen.
