Knowing Your Worth from Song of Songs Series (Part 9)
Go out, O daughters of Zion, and look upon King Solomon, with the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, on the day of the gladness of his heart. Song of Songs 3:11, (Read verses 6-11)
Heart Matter:You are worthy of the King’s extravagant love.
This passage depicts the wedding procession of Solomon as he meets his bride. It mirrors Jesus coming back to receive His bride—the Church—with love, protection, and honor. This scene reflects how God sees you: Jesus comes for us with all the majesty, protection, and love that a King could express. You are deeply cherished, worthy of His love, and protected by God.
Solomon’s grand arrival is accompanied by extravagant perfumes, gold, and purple fabric—all of which point to a love that is extravagant, abundant, and purposeful. The sixty warriors surrounding Solomon represent how God sees you as worthy of protection. When we struggle with self-worth, it’s easy to feel vulnerable, but God sends His protection, just as the warriors guard the bride—God guards your heart.
The last verse reveals that the king comes with gladness and honor, just as Jesus rejoices over us. Your value is not determined by the world’s standards; God affirms your worth. Your are precious, and you are worthy of His extravagant love.
Heart Application:
How does knowing that God sees you as worthy of protection and extravagant love change the way you see yourself? Reflect on this truth and allow it to shape your self-perception.
Prayer:
Abba Father, thank You for loving me with an extravagant love. Help me to understand my worth in Your eyes and to see myself as You do—worthy of protection, honor, and joy. May the Holy Spirit remind me daily of Your deep love for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
