Mercy Triumphs Over Judgment, Part 7 – The Mirror of Mercy
Story:
Michael led Jessica to a handcrafted Aramula mirror during his marriage proposal at a restaurant.
Unlike normal mirrors, the Aramula is uniquely crafted and offers no distortion, reflecting a person clearly and directly. Standing before it, Michael spoke:
"This mirror reflects 100% of who you are. You are fully accepted, just like how the mirror reflects a person with no distortion. You are unique, and there’s no other Jessica in this world, just like the Aramula mirror, uniquely handcrafted."
This story reflects the mercy of God, who sees us as we truly are—unique and deeply loved. Just as Michael used the mirror to affirm Jessica’s identity, God uses His Word as a mirror to show us who we are in His mercy: unique, fully accepted, and deeply valued.
The Mirror of of Mercy
The mirror of God’s mercy reflects truth in love, helping us see ourselves and others clearly. When we look into the Word of God—the ultimate mirror—it reveals both our flaws and our worth at the same time. Yet this reflection invites transformation without condemnation.
Without the right mirror, we risk projecting our judgments onto others. A judgmental mirror focuses on exposing flaws without offering hope or solutions, often leading to shame and rejection. But a merciful mirror, like God’s Word, invites self-reflection and growth, allowing people to see themselves as God sees them: unique, fully loved, and redeemable.
Mercy frees us from the pressure to conform to worldly standards or being perfect. When we embrace God’s mercy, we can extend the same mirror of mercy to others—not by imposing rules or our opinions, but by pointing them to God’s Word. Even Jesus asked questions to guide people to examine their hearts, fostering self-awareness rather than condemnation.
Mercy helps us to embrace our uniqueness. We are free to accept our true selves and help others do the same.
To Love Mercy
When studying God’s Word, look deeply into the mirror of mercy. Let the Word wash over you, reminding you that God accepts you 100%. The more we see ourselves through His mercy, the more wecan extend it to others.
Prayer
Abba Father, thank You for seeing me as I truly am—flawed, yet fully loved and accepted. Help me to look into the mirror of Your Word and reflect Your mercy to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
