Perhaps Today Part 7

Perhaps Today... I’ll Meet God Face to Face

"So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying, ‘For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life has been delivered.’" – Genesis 32:30

Meeting God face to face is not just a future hope for life after death—it is a reality we can experience today. In Genesis 32:30, Jacob wrestles with God, bringing his fears, doubts, and desperation to Him. He was honest, persistent, and real. Wrestling may look messy, but in those moments of vulnerability and authenticity, God revealed Himself in a personal and powerful way.

After this encounter, Jacob became Israel, with a forever-changed identity. Perhaps today, like Jacob, we can meet God face to face. Whether through an honest prayer, heartfelt worship, or simply crying out to Him, God invites us to come to Him authentically. In that encounter, we can experience His grace, favor, and transformation. When we meet Him face to face, we discover His face is smiling at us, offering blessing and divine approval.

Reflection:

Be persistent. Meeting God face to face means being real, vulnerable, and willing to surrender everything to Him

Prayer:

Abba Father, I want to meet You face to face. Help me to come to You with honesty, to wrestle with my struggles, and to hold on to You no matter what. Let me see Your grace and favor. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
