Exposing the accusing spirit Part 1
“for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.” Revelation 12:10
There is spiritual warfare going on, and our minds are the battlefield. Among Satan's major tactics is sending the accusing spirit to torment us, wear us down spiritually, and destroy our relationships with God and others.
The accusing spirit speaks to us through voices and lies that attack us, other people, and even God. The common lie to point out our mistakes, whether it is from past failures or current ones, as Satan wants us to feel worthless, guilty, shamed and condemned for our mistakes.
As it works hand in hand with critical and legalistic spirits, the accusing spirit may sound justified righteousness. Like some people may coldly expose or condemn the mistakes and sins of others. The spirit may tempt us to blame or feel offended by other people, like the voice will keep coming back and drag the matter again, to tempt our minds continuously blame, think, and speak evil to the person, as if we were siding with Satan's attorney team who accused the person. Likewise, other people can also be used by Satan to accuse us, whether rightly or falsely.
Even worse, Satan's plan is to make us blame God or stop trusting Him for our salvation and justification as he aims to make us fall from grace and discredit the work of the cross. The voice of accusation points out our sins as if Jesus did nothing to erase our sins and forgive us. Consequently, it makes us weak or doubt our identity as God's children.
The spirit of accusation brings out problems without salvation, while the spirit of God brings out solutions with a heart for salvation. In part two, we will discuss how to be free from the accusing spirit and the good news that Jesus is our advocate.
Blessing prayer: We declare that there is no condemnation who are in Christ. Holy Spirit, may you help us discern and expose the voices of the accusing spirit, replacing them with your truth and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen
