Grow your faith with “Son-shine”

It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.” Mark 4:31-32

The first time I held a mustard seed, I was stunned by its size and wondered, "Can we really move mountains with simply a mustard seed? "

The world teaches us that we have to do something big in order to have big results, whereas God teaches an entirely different mindset. We need a mustard seed faith to move seemingly unmovable mountains, such as sickness, relational problems, financial problems, etc.

In the key verse, we learn that mustard seed starts out small and insignificant, but once it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs! What does it take to grow a mustard seed of faith that moves mountains? We need to nourish the seed by allowing the word of God to grow in our heart through fertile soil, watered by the Holy Spirit, and having constant communion with Jesus, who is our light, the “son-shine”.

It is so common that when we face a big mountain, we seek various worldly tools and man-made ways to try to move our mountains. However,  in God's kingdom, all we have to do is allow the word of God to germinate and grow into full life.

Thus, don't underestimate every small act, such as reading the Bible and praying a short prayer to grow our faith. When our mustard seed grows into a big tree, we will experience a mountain moving with faith and nothing will be impossible for us!

Blessing prayer: I bless you that the seed has been sown in your fertile heart, a heart filled with understanding and obedience to the Word of God. May the Holy Spirit refresh your soil, and may we get so close to Jesus, that He is our Son-shine and shining bright and giving energy to our faith, so we can grow our mustard seed faith into mountain-moving faith, and nothing will be impossible for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
