Meeting God’s face to face

So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Genesis 32:30

Jacob is on his way to meet Esau, and he is distressed because Esau may kill him because of his cheating. Jacob spent the night alone, and then wrestled with God until dawn. “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” Say Jacobs and indeed he prevailed. In the end, God blessed Jacob and gave him a new name, Israel. Through this divine encounter, Jacob received God's blessings, found Esau's favor, and a mighty nation was born. The story of Jacob's wrestling with God teaches us that when we are faced with challenging situations, we grab hold of God in the midst of our fear and anxiety and don't let go until He grants us blessings.

We can see God's face at all times because Jesus came to the human form, so now we can see God's face through him. “For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness, made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:5-6

There is no longer anything dreadful about meeting God face to face, and the bible encourages us to always seek His face since the countenance of God gives us divine approval and favor. It is my prayer that God's face shines upon you and that you are in his glorious presence at all times.

Blessing prayers: You are blessed with the face of God with divine approval and favor. May the spirit lead you to meet with God and may his blessings deliver you from all troubles and fears. Even when you weep at night and wrestle with God, the joy comes in the morning when He gives you his blessings. It is my blessing that you will have a divine encounter and a holy shift in your life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
