The power of His blood

“When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” –Exodus 12:13 

God sent a final plague to the Egyptians in Exodus because Pharaoh refused to let his people go. The last plague was to “strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt”. 

The children of Israel are under covenant with God, but in order to stand in covenant with God, they are instructed to apply the blood of lamb and paint it on their doorposts, which would make the angel of death pass them by. 

As Jesus is our passover lamb (1 Cor. 5:7), we are now under a new covenant with Him. Its blood gives us life and redemption, but it also has great power over the enemy.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the world of their testimony” Revelation 12:11 

In Greek, the word overcome means to conquer, overcome, prevail, get the victory, meaning the blood can overcome Satan’s work. We can live a powerful and victorious life through the blood of Jesus, though Satan will try to make us doubt the blood of Jesus because he is afraid that we will realize the power of the blood.

Through faith, let's receive and the power of His blood, which gives us life, redeems us from sin and curses, brings healing, protection and power over the enemy. Thanks to His blood, we can live a life of victory!

Blessing prayer: As I plead the blood of Christ over myself, I rejoice in my covenant relationship with God. Thank you Jesus, for pouring your blood for us so that we can have life and become children of God. May we apply the blood of Jesus and release the power through faith to live a victorious life.
