The Three Spiritual Habits (Part 1) -

AI, devotional

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ Matthew 4:4

Many people make deliberate efforts to eat healthier, sleep better, exercise more often, and spend money on physical health. In the same way, if we prioritize our spiritual health, we will be much healthier in terms of our holistic health. When we develop the spiritual health protocol as a daily habit, we will experience transformative change, more peace, and joy!
Three simple habits are “Daily Bread”, “Daily Drink”, and “Daily Walk”. Today we will discuss "Daily bread".

Jesus is the word of God and the bread of life. Reading the Bible is like eating spiritual food. Reading the Bible may seem boring and tedious to many people, so they might rather listen to sermons, read Christian books, or devotionals. These are great and I consume them very often, but they're like watching a cooking show without eating the food and it's second-hand revelation. Having the Holy Spirit in us will help us have first-hand revelation and highlight our taste for feasting on His Word.

It is also important for us to meditate on God's word. Meditation means ruminating, rumination is like a cow chewing cud and burping up partially digested grass to chew again. As a result, we need to slow down and "chew the word" until the revelation arrives. To help us meditate on Scripture, some bible reading methods, such as SOAP or lectio divina, are helpful. However, the key is to spend time with God and to be hungry for His word.

Additionally, I highly recommend following a bible reading plan. We can develop a daily habit, and secondly, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God" 2 Timothy 3:16, and the Bible reading plan helps us go through boring books that we don't intend to flip through. It is crucial to complete the Bible as a whole, as it will help us understand the scriptures as a whole. Through studying or reading the Bible chronologically, we will be able to gain a clearer understanding of God's character and who He is through each event. We will be amazed at how God's prophecies are fulfilled and none of His word falls to the ground.

Let's enjoy God's word every day!

Blessing prayer: We love Your word and meditate on it constantly. We pray that the Holy Spirit gives us revelation as we read the Bible. In Jesus’ name, Amen
