Love is…(Part 14)

Love never fails. (1 Cor. 13:8)

Today marks the final installment of our "Love Is" series, where Paul declares this profound truth: "Love never fails." To conclude this famous Love Chapter, the phrase “Love never ends” serves as a powerful affirmation of God’s agape love. The Greek word "ekpiptō" (ἐκπίπτω), which literally means "to fall out" or "to fall off," often pertains to failing to achieve a goal or falling from faith. However, in describing God’s love, Paul assures us that it is eternal, unchanging, and unconditional.

Indeed, while human love can be imperfect and fleeting, God's love toward us is unconditional, eternal, and serves as the firm foundation of our faith. It motivates all our actions and decisions. As we grow to reflect the eternal and unchanging character of God, we realize that everything we do on Earth is temporary—including our spiritual gifts, which will eventually cease. However, love alone stays forever; it never ends. Thus, when we love God and others, it aligns with the eternal purposes of God. Love, therefore, is our central focus; we are here to love.

I bless everyone to be grounded and rooted in His love. God’s love never ends and becomes the cornerstone of our identity. In pursuing love, we find true security and affirmation in our relationship with the Most High God. You are loved beyond measure.

Reflection:

Consider revisiting 1 Corinthians 13 and reflecting on which attribute of love you need to develop more fully.

Prayer:

Abba Father, we thank You for Your Agape love that never fails. Your love is patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, and is not proud. It does not dishonor others, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs. Your love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Lord, help us to love like You. May we always remember that we are deeply loved by You, and from this secure place, let us pursue love and love You and others unconditionally. In Jesus' name, Amen.
