Money is Spiritual Part 1: A Tailor-Made Provision

"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." — 2 Corinthians 9:8 (ESV)
In the world’s eyes, wealth is measured by numbers. Someone with $10 million is seen as more successful than someone with $100. This "relative mindset" encourages comparison and places our worth in the amount we possess. It pushes us to chase ever-increasing numbers, and when we fail to reach the standard, it leads to dissatisfaction, greed, and a belief that abundance is always "more." But "more" is never enough.

God’s mindset is entirely different. He sees no significance in earthly amounts—whether $100 billion or $1 million—because all of it is nothing compared to eternal riches. God Himself is the source of all provision, and in His divine plan, He tailors a unique financial plan for each of us. He provides exactly what we need, in His perfect timing and measure. True abundance comes not from the amount we have in the bank account but from trusting God and being content with His provision.

Think of it like going to a grocery store: if you have enough to pay for what you need and even some leftover, that is abundance. It doesn’t matter if your grocery bill is $20 or $200; God’s provision ensures you have what you need. This truth unhooks us from the endless chase for more or the enslavement to this economy, freeing us to walk in faith, gratitude, and contentment.

Golden Nuggets

  1. Stop chasing numbers: Focus on stewarding what God has already entrusted to you.

  2. Change your mindset: Shift from "How can I get more?" to "How can I trust God with what I have?"

  3. Gratitude is powerful: Faith and contentment help you recognize the true riches you already have in Christ.

Prayer:
Abba Father, thank You for being my provider and for giving me all that I need. Help me to see abundance through Your eyes, not by earthly numbers . Teach me to trust You, to be content. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
