The Assurance of God’s Completion
During times of uncertainty and delays, we may wonder if God has forgotten about our matters and desires. Psalm 138:8 reveals the nature of God—He is the perfecter of our faith and the finisher of our stories. The word “perfect” in Hebrew, "gāmar," means to complete, to bring to an end, and to perform. This shows that God does not merely start a project in our lives and abandon it; He sees it through from start to completion.
This word, "perfect," testifies to the meticulous and caring nature of God. It assures us that He will not only begin but also finish the work He has started in us. Even when His plans seem mysterious and beyond our understanding, they are always for our good. Why? Because His "mercy endures forever." This mercy is the foundation upon which His promises are fulfilled.
God is deeply interested in your matters. From the smallest concern to the greatest dreams, when He begins a purpose in you, He is faithful to complete it.
Reflection Question:
How can remembering God’s promise to perfect all that concerns you help during times of waiting or difficulty?
Prayer:
Abba Father, we thank You that Your word is true and Your steadfast love endures forever. Thank You for the promise that You will perfect all that concerns me. I am grateful that Your hands are not only powerful but also caring. As I face the uncertainties and challenges of life, help me to rest in the assurance that You, who have begun a good work in me, will bring it to completion. Teach me patience and help me to trust in Your perfect timing, which is always for my highest good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
