The word of Proverbs 31 (Part 2) Trust

The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain. Proverbs 31:11

In Proverbs 31:11, the Hebrew word for 'trust' conveys a sense of feeling safe or being confident. This trust implies a deep sense of security and reliability that the husband feels towards his wife. Trust is foundational in all relationships, encompassing not just emotional security, but also financial and spiritual aspects. This trust enables the husband to entrust his heart to her, highlighting a profound level of emotional security and reliance on her abilities and management.

Once this trust is established, the latter part of the verse reveals a remarkable outcome: 'he will have no lack of gain.' This suggests that when he places trust in his wife and empowers her, it leads to gain and results in wealth. Therefore, the principle of trust is foundational not only in marriages but also in friendships, work relationships, and beyond. When trust begins, empowerment follows, and the one trusted with responsibilities often results in benefits and gains.

Prayer

Abba Father, teach us to trust in You wholeheartedly, as it is written, 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding' (Proverbs 3:5). Grant us a righteous and upright heart so that we can be secure in You, and so that those around us may feel safe and trust in us. Empower us, Lord, to manage the responsibilities You have entrusted to us, so that through our stewardship, we may achieve abundance and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen
